Section B 阅读课  （本单元第六课时）
一、 教学设计
（一） 教学目标
1. 语言知识
（1）能在篇章中出熊猫的相关信息。             
（2）能说出保护濒危动物的一些措施。
2. 语言技能
（1）能通过扫读了解文章大意，通过寻读了解每个数字代表的意义，通过精读捕捉关于熊猫的细节信息。
（2）能通过分析文章确定文章体裁。
（3）能关注全文布局，分析文章结构。
（4）能根据语境和构词法猜测词义。
3.文化意识
通过阅读和讨论，让学生树立环保意识和保护濒危动物的意识。
4.情感态度
环保是当今社会的热门话题，本节课的拓展环节通过让学生观看video唤起其保护濒危动物的意识，并小组讨论我们在日常生活中该如何保护濒危动物。
5.学习策略
认知策略（复述策略、精细加工策略和组织策略），元认知策略（计划策略和调节策略）
（二） 教学内容分析
1. 教材内容的地位、作用与意义
第七单元的话题是世界知识，主要谈论地理与自然。本节阅读课是
Section B的第二课时，是在Section A了解了我国人口、历史、河流等话题内容、学习了“较大数字的表述和不同句式表达比较级、最高级”和学习Section B 了解了大象熊猫的信息、拓展学习更多比较级句式的基础上进一步进行阅读训练，既复习巩固并运用前面所学的内容，又学习这篇报道说明文特征，为3a-3c部分的说明文写作做铺垫，因为Section B的教学难点是说明文的写作。
2. 教材的编排特点、重点和难点
（1）教材的编排特点：
本单元的教材编排充分体现了新课标的特性,如教材内容编排体现了“听说在前，读写跟上”的
语言学习原则，这样更符合学生的认知学习规律，有利于学生的主动探究；而在进行有关于数字和比较级、最高级的篇章阅读之前，在听说部分已经呈现并设计相关练习来操练这两个知识点，这样有利于帮助学生搭建语言学习的脚手架，培养学生的思维能力和表达能力；再次，本章节的教材与日常生活联系紧密，这也有利于培养学生的环保意识和学以致用的能力。
（2）教学重点：
    本课主要学习濒危动物——熊猫的生活习性和生存现状，以及人类挽救熊猫的一些措施，呈现数字的表达及重点词汇和短语keeper, awake, excitement, illness, bamboo, wild, government, research, endangered, or so, walk into, fall over等。
（3）教学难点：
① 运用扫读、寻读、精读等阅读策略与技巧完成阅读任务；
② 树立环保意识并提出保护濒危动物的建议。
（三） 教学对象分析
1. 学生已有知识和经验
八年级的学生具有一定的英语基础和表达能力，学习的意识和目的性进一步增强。他们喜爱动物，比较关注环保话题，通过本单元前半部分的学习能够熟悉数字的表达、形容词比较级和最高级的用法和熊猫的基本信息。
2. 学生学习方法和技巧
学生在教师的引导下主动参与和自主探究。根据中学生的心理特点，教师在这节课需通过竞赛、鼓励等方式调动其参与课堂活动的积极性，引导学生积极参与个体阅读、同伴讨论、小组竞赛、小组讨论等课堂活动，完成本节课学习任务。
3. 学生个性发展和体提高
    八年级的学生具备一定的双基能力，对熊猫和环保话题感兴趣，在原有的基础上想要获知更多的信息，所以具备一定的学习动机和需求。通过阅读课的任务型学习，学生在完成不同
类型任务的同时得到了个性化指导和发展，从而促进语言综合能力的提升，并在环保意识上得到一定的启发和触动。
（四） 教学策略与过程
1. 教学设计思路
本课的研究方向为阅读教学。
设计思路：首先通过猜测游戏引入话题并运用已给词汇谈论熊猫; 然后通过选择合适的标题、数字、根据短文回答问题、句子填空等训练学生skimming, scanning, detailed reading, guessing八年级英语教学反思等阅读策略与技巧;接着通过观看video唤起保护濒危动物的环保意识；最后谈论在日常生活中该如何保护濒危动物。
通过阅读前、阅读中环节中由浅入深、从简到难的阅读任务进行大量的语言输入，为读后拓展活动中的语言输出做铺垫，帮助学生搭建语言输出的脚手架。读后活动中，主题为“如何保护濒危动物“小组讨论环节切合本课阅读主题、贴近生活，能激发学生谈论的兴趣，有效地促使学生在交际中运用目标语，很好地帮助学生学以致用。
2. 教学过程（步骤、目的、教师活动、学生活动、媒介运用）
Step 1. Warming up
    Greeting and daily talk.
The purpose of this step: To warm Ss up.
Step 2. Leading in
Show some pictures and talk about the teacher.
The purpose of this step: To lead in the new topic and get the Ss to be interested in this lesson. 
Step 3. Pre-reading
Show a picture of pandas and some words about pandas. Encourage the Ss to talk about pandas by using these words.
The purpose of this step: To get Ss to know something about pandas.
Step 4. While-reading
1. Task 1: Tell the Ss to skim the passage and choose the best title.
2. Task 2: Tell the Ss to scan the passage and find out what these numbers mean: 10, 12, 300, 2000.
3. Help the Ss to analyse the style and structure of the passage.
4. Task 3: Tell the Ss to read the passage carefully and answer the questions. And then ask some individuals to choose one golden egg and answer the question.
(Encourage the Ss to compete in telling the answers to Tasks 1, 2 &3)
The purpose of this step: To develop the Ss’ reading ability in getting the main idea and detailed information of a passage.
Step 5. Post-reading
1. Task 4: Encourage the Ss to guess the meaning of the new words according to the context and word formation.
2. Task 5: Tell the Ss to fill in the blanks with the correct forms of the words.
The purpose of this step: To develop their ability in using the key language points.
Step 6. Extension
1. Play a 2-minute video clip about protecting endangered animals.
2. Task 6: Encourage the Ss to discuss in groups and make a report about protecting endangered animals.
The purpose of this step: To teach the Ss a moral lesson and get them to participate in protection of endangered animals in their daily life.
Step 7. Summing up
Review the words and expressions.
The purpose of this step: To develop the Ss’ ability in summing up knowledge.
Homework assignment
Item 1. Read and translate the passage.
Item 2. Write a report about protecting endangered animals.
The purpose of this step: To consolidate what was learnt.
