What I Will Do for Dad on Father's Day
Father's Day is coming up soon and I'm really excited! It's a special day just for dads, to celebrate how awesome they are. My dad works so hard every single day to take care of our family. He gets up really early to go to his job at the factory, and when he comes home at night he's always tired but still makes time to help me with my homework or take me to soccer practice. On the weekends, he mows the lawn, fixes things around the house, and runs errands. He never gets a break!
That's why Father's Day is so important. It's a chance for me to show my dad how much I appreciate everything he does. I've been thinking a lot about the perfect way to make this Father's Day extra special for him.
First thing in the morning, I'm going to make him his favorite breakfast - blueberry pancakes! I've been practicing making them with my mom's help. The trick is to make sure the pan isn't too hot or the pancakes will burn. I'll set the table really nicely with a fancy placemat and napkin. I'm going to pour him a big glass of orange juice too since I know that's his favorite.
After breakfast, I want to make sure Dad gets to just relax and not have to worry about any chores or work for the whole day. I'll do all my chores like cleaning my room, feeding the dog, and taking out the trash without him having to remind me. I'll also rake the leaves in the yard and wash his car to check those tasks off his to-do list. Hopefully that will allow him to kick back on the couch and watch whatever he wants on TV.
In the afternoon, the whole family is going to go do Dad's favorite activity - mini golf! He always has so much fun at the mini golf course. We'll get a bunch of snacks like popcorn, cotton candy, and slushy drinks. Maybe I'll even let Dad beat me this time! After mini golf, we're going out for his favorite meal - steak and potatoes at the nicest restaurant in town.
For his present, I got Dad some tools he's been wanting to help work on projects around the house. I know he's been eyeing that new cordless drill at the hardware store. I saved up all my allowance for months and did extra chores so I could buy it for him. I also made him a #1 Dad trophy out of popsicle sticks, pipe cleaners, and construction paper. I think he'll love how it turned out!
Towards the end of the night, I'll give Dad a card I've been working on. I really want him to know how much he means to me, so I'm going to write down all the reasons I love and appreciate him. A few reasons are:
He works so hard every day to give our family everything we need
He always helps me with my homework when I'm struggling
He teaches me important lessons like being a good sport and telling the truth
He makes me laugh with his funny jokes and voices
He gives the best hugs that make me feel safe and loved
I could probably write a whole book about why my dad is the best, but I'll try to fit as much as I can in the card. I might get a little teary-eyed when I'm writing it!
After the card, we'll have a campfire in our backyard. Dad always loves roasting marshmallows and stargazing. I'll let him point out all the constellations and tell me the stories behind their names. Then we'll make s'mores and cozy up together to watch the fire. It will be such a nice way to end Father's Day.
My dad really is the best. He's caring, funny, hard-working, and just an all-around amazing person. I'm so lucky that he's my dad. This Father's Day, I want to shower him with love and attention to show how grateful I am for everything he does. He totally deserves to be celebrated! I can't wait for June 18th so I can make it an unforgettable day full of his favorite things. Dad - thanks for all that you do. I love you!

What I Will Do for My Dad on Father's Day
Father's Day is coming up soon, and I've been thinking a lot about what I can do to make my dad feel really special. He works so hard for our family, and he deserves to have a day that's all about him and how much we love him.
First, I'm going to make him breakfast in bed. He usually gets up really early to go to work, so I want him to be able to sleep in a little. I'll ask my mom to help me make his favorite - scrambled eggs, bacon, hash browns, and toast with lots of butter and jam. I'll put it all on a tray with a glass of orange juice and a little vase with a flower from our garden. I'm going to try really hard not to spill anything when I carry it up to his room!
After he eats, I'm going to give him the present I made for him at school. We made toolboxes out of popsicle sticks and painted them bright colors. Inside I put a bunch of little cardboard tools I made too - a hammer, a screwdriver, a wrench. I drew pictures on the handles so he'll know what they are. On the inside of the toolbox lid, I wrote "I love you Dad!" in my best handwriting. I really hope he likes it.
