Hello everyone my name is Alex I am 14 years old and I am in the 8th grade at Oakwood Middle School I live in a small town called Greenfield with my parents and my younger sister Lily who is 10 years old we have a pet dog named Buddy who is a golden retriever I was born in the city of Riverside but my family moved to Greenfield when I was 5 years old so I have lived here for most of my life
In school my favorite subjects are math and science I really enjoy solving complex problems and learning about how the world works I am particularly interested in physics and I hope to one day become an engineer or a scientist when I grow up I also like to read a lot in my free time my favorite genres are science fiction and fantasy I especially love stories about space exploration and alien civilizations I find those kinds of stories very imaginative and thought-provoking
Outside of academics I have a few hobbies that I really enjoy one of my biggest passions is playing soccer I have been on my school's soccer team since 5th grade and I love the thrill of
competition and the teamwork involved in the sport I also play on a club soccer team that competes in a local league on the weekends soccer has taught me a lot about discipline hard work and sportsmanship another hobby of mine is playing the guitar I started taking lessons a couple years ago and I really enjoy being able to express myself through music I like to play a variety of genres from rock to folk to classical and I often perform for my family and friends
In terms of my personality I would describe myself as a curious and hardworking student I am always eager to learn new things and I put a lot of effort into my schoolwork I also consider myself to be a good friend I value loyalty and I try my best to be there for the people I care about I have a good sense of humor and I enjoy making people laugh with my wit and my silly personality I can be a bit shy at first but once I get to know someone I open up and become more outgoing I also try to be a good role model for my younger sister by setting a positive example through my actions
One of the things I am most proud of is my involvement in my local community I volunteer r
egularly at a soup kitchen where I help prepare and serve meals to those in need I find this work very rewarding as it allows me to give back and help make a difference in people's lives I also participate in various community service projects through my school and my church such as cleaning up parks organizing food drives and visiting nursing homes I believe it is important to be an active and engaged member of one's community and I take pride in doing my part
Looking to the future I am excited about the prospect of going to high school next year I know it will be a big transition but I am ready for the new challenges and opportunities that await me I hope to continue to excel academically and perhaps join some new extracurricular activities as well I also look forward to making new friends and experiencing the social aspects of high school life ultimately my goal is to work hard study diligently and prepare myself for college and a future career that will allow me to make a positive impact on the world
