For todays Christian, the origin of Christmas is, and should be, the birth of Jesus Christ as recorded in the Bible. Nothing more and nothing less. However, most of what we witness on December 25th each year has absolutely nothing to do with that blessed day, which probably occurred in late summer or early fall about 2,000 years ago. In fact, most of the customs and traditions of Christmas actually pre-date the birth of Jesus, and many of them are downright deceptive in their meaning and origin. Anyway, who cares when Christ was born?
Christmas Day,the 25th of December,is the biggest festival(节日)celebrated in the Christian c
ountries of the world.Although everyone enjoys Christmas Day,it is particularly enjoyed to children,who get very excited because of the presents they know they are going to receive.Small children believe that their presents are brought by Father Christmas(圣诞老人).Father Christmas is a kind of old man who,the children are told,lives at the North Pole.He travels through the sky on a sleigh(雪撬) which is pulled by reindeers(驯鹿) and loaded with(装满) presents.Stopping on the roof of houses,he enters to climbing the chimney(烟囱).When small children go to bed on Christmas Eve,they hang a stocking at the end of their beds.Their parents warn them not to try to look at Father Christmas,or he will not leave them anything.When they wake,they find their stockings filled with presents.Children are very excited on Christmas morning and always wake up early.
Christmas is also a family celebration.As any members of the family as possible gather to eat,play party games and watch the special Christmas programmes on TV.

s, Santa Claus will give you presents! Im so happy! My ear rings like" jingle, jingle, " This kind of music. I was immersed in the joy of Christmas, imagining how Santa Claus gave presents. I think thats how Santa presents presents. He was wearing a red hat, a white plush ball on the top, and a big red dress and pants. When the needle pointed to 12 oclock, he would drive a deer sledge to give gifts to every child who wanted to give them. But these children must be sensible and obedient.
In order to get the gift, I brushed my teeth, washed my face, and obediently gave my breakfast to my family. My family was very surprised, because I was not like this in normal times. I let go for a gift. In class, I try my best not to let myself go on errands. In normal times, Ive been distracted. Finally proud to school.
I thought, "will Santa forget me if he wants to give gifts to so many children?" so I wrote down the gifts on a piece of paper so that Santa would not forget them. In the evening, I had a beautiful dream that I got a big gift. But I didnt see any presents by the bed when I came together in the morning. I fell into my mothers arms and told her the whole thing. My
mother stroked my head and said, "silly boy, Santa didnt forget you." You see, say, take a doll out of the back. I held the doll and broke into tears.

Maybe the Spring Festival is much more important and interesting than Christmas, but I like Christmas Day better. Because we can spend time with our friends and classmates during Christmas. When it is snowy, Christmas becomes much more lovely, just like in fairytales. I can imagine I am in a fairytale, the girl who sold the matches is my friend, the ugly duck becoming more and more beautiful and so on. What a beautiful place! So we can also call Christmas “Snowy Lovely Day.”  On Christmas Day, shops are red and green. There are so many Christmas cards, Christmas hats, Christmas dolls and many colourful things. So shops look very beautiful. We can give a card or a doll to our friends and say “Merry Christmas.” By the way, I think studying can also become much more interesting.
