Unit 1 Teaching Plan for Grade 8 English
Objective:
1. To introduce students to the new vocabulary and phrases related to daily activities.
2. To enable students to use the present continuous tense to talk about what they and others are doing.
3. To develop students’ ability to construct simple sentences and questions using the present continuous tense.
4. To provide opportunities for students to practice speaking and writing in the present continuous tense.
Day 1:
Introduction to New Vocabulary
八年级下册英语教学计划- Introduce and explain new vocabulary related to daily activities such as “doing homework”, “watching TV”, “playing sports”, etc.
- Use visuals, flashcards, and real-life examples to engage students and help them remember the new words.
Day 2:
Present Continuous Tense
- Explain the present continuous tense and its usage in the form of “subject + am/is/are + verb-ing”.
- Provide examples of sentences using the present continuous tense and highlight the use of present continuous to talk about actions happening now.
Day 3:
Practice Activities
- Conduct pair and group activities for students to practice using the present continuous tense.
- Ask students to describe what they and their classmates are doing at the moment, using the target language.
- Provide worksheets and exercises for students to complete individually, reinforcing their understanding of the present continuous tense.
