There's an old Chinese saying, "Celebrate the Lantern Festival".

How do you celebrate the Lantern Festival
元宵怎么闹?
李梅:
I think the Lantern Festival is just like a carnival in the West, but with different activities.
我觉得很像西方的狂欢节.就是狂欢的活动不太一样.
杰瑞:
Oh, what activities are there?
哦.都有什么活动?
李梅:
In the evening they hang thousands of colorful lanterns out for people to enjoy.
晚上人们会挂起五颜六的灯笼.大家一起赏灯.
杰瑞:
I've heard of the lantern riddles before: do they come from this?
我听说过猜灯谜.是不是从这儿来的?
李梅:
Yes, and there are also activities such as the dragon dance, lion dance and setting off fireworks - it's very lively.
对.还有舞龙.舞狮子.放烟火这些活动.可热闹了.
