"The greatness of life and the glory of death" is a word written by Chairman Mao for Liu Hulan.
Liu Hulan is the revolutionary martyr I admire most. She was born in 1932 in a peasant family. She attended primary school at the age of 8, joined the children's League at the age of 10 and became the head of the regiment. At the age of 14, she became a probationary member of the Communist Party of China. On January 12, 1947, Liu Hulan was arrested because of the traitor's report. In the face of the enemy's threat, she was unyielding and righteous. The enemy had no choice but to kill the other six people in front of her, but Liu Hulan was not afraid, calmly walked to the enemy's guillotine and made a heroic sacrifice. She was only 15 years old.
Liu Hulan, formerly known as Liu Fulan, was born on October 8, 1932 in a poor peasant family in Wenshui County, Shanxi Province. During the Anti Japanese War, 10-year-old Liu Hulan joined the children's League. At the end of 1945, he served as the Secretary of the vi
llage women's Rescue Association. In 1946, he became an alternate member of the Communist Party of China.
On January 12, 1947, under the threat and inducement of the enemy, Liu Hulan did not fear death and died at the age of 15.
After Liu Hulan's deeds were reported by Jinsui daily and Jiefang Daily, they soon spread throughout the liberated areas. Mao Zedong specially wrote an inscription for her: "the greatness of life and the glory of death". In September 2009, Liu Hulan was selected as "100 heroes and models who made outstanding contributions to the founding of new China".
Liu Hulan's spirit and image of preferring death to surrender will always live in the hearts of the people. As a primary school student growing up in the 21st century, we should cherish the good conditions brought by the motherland, work hard to learn, and serve the motherland when we grow up.
