        International Nurses Day falls on May 12th each year.
       
        2.Why is May 12th chosen as the date of International Nurses Day? 为什么选择这一天作为护士节呢?
        The date was chosen as the anniversary of the birth of Florence Nightingale, who is widely considered the founder of modern nursing. 因为5月12护士节是哪天日是现代护士行业创始人南丁格尔的生日。
       
        3. Why did people want to have such a festival? 人们为什么要有这样一个节日呢?
        In1974, the International Council of Nurses decided to celebrate International Nurses Day to remember all the precious contributions nurses have made to the society. 1974年,为了纪念护士们为社会做出的宝贵贡献,国际护士协会决定庆祝国际护士节。
        洁白的燕帽,象征着圣洁的天使;燃烧的蜡烛,象征着“燃烧自己,照亮他人”。每逢5月12日国际护士节到来之际,医院、护士学校等都会举行庄严的护士授帽仪式,并庆祝“节日”的到来。
