Good morning. Dear Teachers and Professors. I am honored to have the opportunity to attend this interview. I hope I can make a good performance today, eventually enroll in this prestigious university in September.
Please allow me introduce myself briefly. My name is XXX. I’m 28 years old. As my age shows, I have been working for almost four years.
In 2008, I was admitted to Xxx. At the undergraduate stage, I majored in materials science and engineering. Then, I graduated successfully in 2012and continuedmy studies for master's degree in the same university.
During my master's degree, I mainly investigated the preparation and modification of lead-free piezoelectric ceramics. Through the theoretical study and the practice participation, I not only mastered the preparation techniques of functional ceramic materials and acquired some performance control mechanisms, but also mastered many methods to characterize the properties of materials, such as SEM, XPS and Laman. As the saying goes, life lies in diligence, no gains without pains.After more than two years of hard work, I successfully received my master’s degree from XXX in 2015.
With the expectation of being a scientist, I chose to work in the XXX. It was on my first day at work that I learned about XXX and their significance to xx.
The department in which I work is mainly engaged in thexxx, right in such a circumstance, I gradually had a certain understanding of the xxx and carried out some research on xxx process. At present, I am investigating xxx.
I have learned a lot of knowledge in the past several years of work, and have a deeper understanding of energetic materials in the research. Nevertheless, I have not systematically studied the relevant knowledge before. Meanwhile, I’ve also found my true passion in recognizing that the work I’m doing that are important forxxx make it even more rewarding than I expected. So I always hope to have a teacher to guide me in my researchon xxx and give me a chance to continue learning, so that I can perfect, enlarge and realize my ideas. That's why I chose to continue my Ph.D., and although I’ve discover
ed that the process is much harder than I ever imagined.
During my doctoral study, I plan to conduct my researches in the following three aspects.
The first research project is xxx.

Of course, these plans still need to be improved. Therefore, I sincerely hope that I can have the opportunity to do research here, so that I can further discuss the research plan and direction with my tutor.
I recognize the importance of self-improvement, as they are essential for success in every position. I want to improve my academic ability in order to make more achievements in the limited time. Why do you think you are qualified for xxx大学?
I think I have two merits that make me qualified for xxx. Firstly, I developed quality of diligence, responsibility, corporation and honesty. These qualities are the basis of whether one can make academic achievements or not. Furthermore, I have published four articles in both Chinese journals and foreign journals, and I also own a patent for invention. I believe that my innovation ability, experiment ability and paper writing ability should enable me to graduate with a PhD successfully.
As for me, I am good at xxx. Therefore, I hope to study the response of xxx. Of course, I will fully accept the guidance of my tutor on my research direction.

During my master's degree, I mainly investigated the preparation and modification of lead-free piezoelectric ceramics. Piezoelectric ceramics are functional ceramics that can convert mechanical energy and electrical energy into each other. Once given a pressure, an electric field will form inside it; once applied an electric filed, it will deform. What we do
is to optimize the properties of the base material by doping and to study the reasons for the change of its electric performance. Therefore, I mastered many methods to characterize the properties of materials, such as SEM, XPS and Laman. Meanwhile, I could also process and analyze the test data independently.

My greatest advantage is that I love thinking and always want to do things better.

My greatest weakness is that I am a little sloppy and occasionally forget things.
