The Lantern Festival is a traditional Chinese festival, which is on the 15th day of the 1st lunar month. We celebrate it because it's the first night to see a full moon in a lunar new year. On that evening we make a lot of lanterns with puzzles on the bottom and show the lanterns on the street. People gather to appreciate the colourful lanterns and solve the puzzles. That's why it's called the Lantern Festival.
On that evening we also eat Yuan Xiao, a traditional Chinese food which is like a white rice ball with sugar, sesame, peanuts, walnuts, osmanthus flower, rose petals, jujube past
e or other sweet in it. We do that to wish the new year happy and sweet. So the Lantern Festival is also called the Yuan Xiao Festival.

正月十五元宵节，这天中午，我和妈妈、哥哥一行六人去文化广场看闹元宵活动。路上的人可多了，简直是人山人海、车水马龙。锣鼓喧天、鞭炮齐鸣处处洋溢着节日的喜庆!
一辆一辆的花车队伍开了过来，五花八门的表演赢得了观众们的阵阵喝彩声：穿红着绿的秧歌队扭着欢快的秧歌、火红的腰鼓跳起来、惊险刺激的'高跷表演、幽默的旱船表演、憨态可掬的大头娃娃、舞龙舞狮舞出了盛世祥和!
到了晚上，我们又结伴去看烟花，一路上人们扶老携幼，他们兴高采烈的边说边笑，从四面八方汇聚在一起观赏焰火晚会，共度激情夜晚。
7点28分，烟花晚会正式开始了!
忽然，“砰”的一声，一个“导弹”飞向天空，在天空中炸响，五颜六的“伞兵”飘然而来。一簇簇彩鲜艳的花束飞向天空，接着出现了无数的小礼花，小礼花“噼里啪啦”在半空中炸响了，伴随着“隆隆”的礼炮声。各类烟花五彩缤纷、争奇斗艳，染红了天空。忽然，一条金的巨龙出现在河岸边，把河水映的通明。引起观众一阵阵欢呼声。人们纷纷举起手机、相机，想把这美丽的瞬间留住!
