They argue that education is a right and no one should be denied access to quality higher education simply because they are financially incapable. They also argue that free education enhances social mobility and leads to a more equitable society.
On the other hand, those who believe universities should charge tuition fees argue that tuition fees will make universities more efficient and drive better quality education as universities can hire qualified teachers, invest in modern equipment and a wide variety of educational activities. They also argue that tuition fees will encourage students to take their studies seriously and put in the necessary effort to achieve their goals.
In conclusion, it appears that there are strong arguments for both sides. However, it might be best to find a balance between charging tuition fees and providing free access to education. Such a balance would ensure that universities are able to remain financially viable and accessible to all.
